The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) has named Mr. Scott Holcombe of S&W Ready Mix Co., a subsidiary of Titan Americas, and Altaview Concrete, a Summit Materials Company, as the recipients of its 7th Annual Safety Awards. Mr. Holcombe is the Plant Manager for both the Murrells Inlet and Georgetown Plants in South Carolina. Altaview Concrete is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. Both were named 2023 award recipients for tireless work and commitment of safety leadership in the industry.
NRMCA’s Annual Safety Award acknowledges the significant contribution that safe work practices give to the growth and success of individuals and individual companies and the ready mixed concrete industry as a whole. The NRMCA Annual Safety Award is presented to an individual or company whose actions represent the very highest in the advancement of safety in the ready mixed concrete industry. The award program is generously sponsored by the Truck Mixer Manufacturers Bureau (TMMB).
S&W’s Senior Safety Manager Jamie Williams wrote, “Mr. Holcombe’s leadership as a member of our inaugural safety committee, chairing the South Carolina division’s safety committee, and leading his plant by example, have resulted in the company’s more than 30% reduction in OSHA recordable injuries and his plant going more than 7 years without a lost time accident. His leadership is also evident in the people that work for him, and they embody safety culture from top to bottom. Scott is meticulous with his safety training and inspections.”
